I'm Laura mazzotta, an Akashic therapist. Sit back, relax and receive as new insights enter your awareness during these illuminating conversations. Welcome to another episode of divinely grounded today. We are going to talk about alchemy. What I love about alchemy is that, and we're going to describe it and talk more about it in different ways here. But what I love about it is that it really shows us that energy is always working in the background, no matter what like there's always an energetic process going on, whether it's because we've set an intention, or because we started putting the wheels in motion around something. When we come into a co creative space with the universe, and we're in relationship with the universe, and we decide to put something in motion, there is an energetic movement that has just begun. It's like the train has left the station right, like it's just in motion. And what I love about it is it's like deepening that belief in magic for ourselves, and the fact that God is working on our behalf, the universe is working on our behalf, and we don't have to try so hard. And alchemy can be really fun, and it's also a process that is so important for us to be aware of, because it allows us to take some efforting out of it and and let the alchemical process that we've that is underway, that we may have catalyzed to have its own life, to have its own process and journey.
Jenna 2:25
It's interesting because while you were talking, I went and looked up the definition, because I know you love doing this, I went and looked up the definition of alchemy. And one of the things it says at the end is, is it's a supposed transformation of matter to find a universal elixir. I know
Laura 2:48
that's delicious
Jenna 2:51
I know. And I mean, I'm paraphrasing, because I'm taking apart the pieces where it's like converting base metals and stuff, but you know,
Laura 2:58
yeah, it's the conversion. It's the transformation of one thing into a different form and universal, yeah, and that's really you think about it. I mean, the universal elixir, like the energy in the universe and the quantum space is so rich. It's so fertile. Things are being created there all the time, constantly, and that is being transformed and built into and patterned into matter or thoughts or emotional experience or whatever comes forward in the 3d I like talking about this concept because we get to realize that we're all alchemists, that we get To kind of like play with this energy that comes into our world, that comes into our awareness and realize how much power and agency we have over shifting its form, but that it gets to remain light. It doesn't have to feel like this. Okay, well, I started this, so now I have to complete X and Y task by this time in order to get the outcome that I said I desire
Jenna 4:04
yeah, and we don't always have to think about alchemy in the sense of like, I'm trying to shift something I don't want to feel. I feel like a lot of people like, oh, I have to alchemize this. I have to change this, you know. And I feel like it makes alchemy seem like a coping mechanism or a process that you don't actually have to only enter when something's wrong or feels wrong or feels heavy, it's like no you can alchemize everything. You are already alchemizing Everything. It is your reality as you move and as you interact in daily life, you are living, breathing, Alchemy. It's not a practice. It doesn't have to be a practice.
Laura 4:52
I love that so much because it's taking away that efforting. It's like recognizing that you are all. Be alchemical, like just your presence and resonance alone, especially in aware relationship, or intentional relationship, with the divine, like that is always happening. I mean, Alchemy is happening anyway. It's just in terms of whether you have awareness of the fact that it's happening. But like you said, it's not about, well, I have to alchemize this. Well, what if you trusted and knew that alchemy was always happening, like Jenna just said, and you just made it a point to come into presence with whatever is present. Because when we are in presence, we are trusting the natural alchemy of the space that we are occupying internally and otherwise.
Jenna 5:48
Yeah, and I think it's often more of an allowance of energy to move, more than, like you said, a forcing of of transformation. It's allowing the energy to transform as it desires to transform, and you being the catalyst for it, you being the conduit that it runs through,
Laura 6:09
rather than that attachment to outcome.
Jenna 6:11
Yeah
Laura 6:13
Like, I have to alchemize this. Why? So that you can feel comfortable, so that you can like, Why? Why do you have to alchemize this? Like, what are you rushing to get out of? What are you trying to shift? Why are you shifting it? Because, I mean, we all alchemize. I alchemize like a motherfucker. So it's not like we are completely void of desiring an outcome from these things, but it's just bringing that awareness in around, like, Okay, what like pausing? Why do I have to alchemize this? What if I could trust alchemy and just come into presence with the energy that's that's here, that's being provided to me? I trust and know that it's going to move on its own accord, and I am then going to know next steps, next awareness, next whatever that I desire to come to me, and it's always going to be a better vision than what I can envision in my own brain.
Jenna 7:13
Yeah, because you don't want to purposely direct something toward a specific outcome, because in doing that, you rob yourself of so many others. So it's the alchemy of its own texture.
Laura 7:24
I think this is so interesting because it brings forward this concept of intention. Like you're saying, don't direct it one way or the other. But isn't that what we're doing when we set an intention, we're directing it. And like when we talk about manifestation practices, it's like, Get clear on your desire. And I know the way that I teach it is Get clear on your desire without attaching to the exact 3d vision and desire that you have in your head and the way that it's going to unfold. It's the concept of following desire itself, like the frequency itself, and allowing that frequency to be there and moving with it. But I think this is an interesting conversation to have around intention, because, like we said, we can catalyze the alchemical process by setting an intention. We can catalyze the alchemical process by making a decision and starting to move. But I think that's where I am with it is like, okay, you can do that and then release your attachment to outcome and give the energy space to move, because it's not like I've made that decision and set that intention just because I've made that decision and set that intention based on the energy or the desire that is presenting within me, that has guided me to set that intention, to make that decision, and then I also let the energy take its its role. Does this make sense?
Jenna 8:50
Yes, I had to follow your hand movements with it, too.
Laura 8:53
I'm so sorry for those of you who are listening and not noticing that I'm like, using my hands to, like, pinpoint all these different points on the timeline.
Jenna 9:03
I think it's, it's an interesting wrinkle within all of it, because there's so many facets within this in terms of how we create. Like, yes, we are responsible for our own reality. Yes, we can create whatever we want to create. But at what point do you set an intention. It's like an infomercial where you set it and forget it. You know what I mean? It's like one of those things where you can have the original point, like the origin point of the desire, the origin point of the decision, the origin point of where the alchemy came into your body, to where you had the awareness of it, it's the awareness point, and then you let it ride, and then you let your creation and the energy do whatever it desires to do.
Laura 9:50
That’s the sexiness, right there, the awareness point. Acknowledge the awareness point in whatever way, whether that's intention, whether that's movement. A decision making. It's almost like that point where you're deciding to take the Hand of the Divine and say, Yes, I agree to co create with you on this. And it's from that point that it's like, okay, the alchemy is underway, and now we're in a give and take. Now we're in a relationship, we're in a conversation. We're flowing back and forth, a felt sense conversation. We're flowing back and forth with the energy that's arriving, that is flowing, that is presenting itself, that is moving, and we're not looking for it.
Jenna 10:31
yeah, and I think that one of the important things within this is like how the nervous system can come into play, because I think that that's what directs a lot of the outcome based shit within this is because, especially when it comes to relationship and being like, oh, I want to alchemize whatever's in the space between or something like that, and it's like, that's, is that true alchemy When you're trying to force something to feel better about what, what is transpiring between two people or in a situation or in a given circumstance, like, is that true alchemy? And I don't think it is, because I think it's a nervous system response. I think at that point you're just trying to direct energy to feel better.
Laura 11:22
I completely I'm so glad you brought this up. I'm so glad you brought this up because it's also, you know, one of those first stages of alchemy that we're going to be doing in our first ceremony in the choir retreat, right around melting, like letting your body, letting your energy, human and otherwise melt meld. Like, let it all dissolve into oneness, right? Like, let it all just simmer. Go ahead
Jenna 11:57
and I think that that's kind of what you were bringing up with. Felt sense too. Because when you actually enter alchemy, you feel it in your body as an openness to me, I feel it in my body as, like an openness in my chest to where I'm just like, Oh, okay. But when you're entering it as a space from like, appeasing your nervous system, it's more constricted in your body and constricted in your chest, and you're just kind of like, you feel this kind of pull to, like, wanting to get to yes or Thank you, that it's like an anxiety and like a I have to, I have to change this so that I It feels some, some type of way, or, Oh, so that I can get to this end point. It's very different.
Laura 12:46
It's very different. It's that word forced you used. You can literally feel like, even if you you're listening and you hear the word forced, like, what sensation did that bring up in your body that makes my chest constrict, that makes I feel like a tightness in my solar plexus, like just underneath my chest, right? Like I feel like a tightening there, when you when you hear the word force, where, if it's like, you know, Alchemy feels like this, like opening, almost magical, ooh, what kind of divine forces are at play? What kind of what's going to happen here. Anytime something is alchemized, it's like, what's going to happen here? You know what? What is this chemical solution? When I put these two things together, what is the reaction going to be? What is the alchemical I guess, design patterning that's going to come out of putting these two components together. And it's, that's why we talk about this in scientific terms as well, in terms of, like, what is the final product going to look like? There's hypothesizing, there's Okay, did, did our results match our hypothesis? And so there's this element of mystery involved with Alchemy. And we get to be like, okay, like, let's put these energies together. Me saying, Yeah, I'm going to meet this energy you're bringing forward within me, spirit. And we're going to flow with this. We're going to see how this felt sense, conversation moves. I'm going to do my part and melt into the witnessing of this and so that my nervous system isn't in this urgency, forced space, I'm going to continue to remind myself to come back into that felt sense flow with you, and it's a little curious. It's like, let's see what comes of this. And that's the surrender to the unknown, or the devotion to the unknown that we decide to practice or to gradually unfold into over the course of this spiritual path.
Jenna 14:49
And I think a lot of it has to do with trust too. Oh, yeah, like trusting that something is going to happen. Yeah. It doesn't have to be something objectively good or objectively bad. That it's just like, okay, something is going to come of this.
Laura 15:03
It's so cool that we're having this conversation right now, because I just got off the phone with a client of mine, and we had our final session for my Vitality program. And so she's been in this program for about five months already. And my goodness, I am like, I'm like, over the moon about so many of these clients, just to see how beautifully they've come into their embodiment over the course of this time. And she said she was like, I just feel like, I don't, I don't need to know or look for the answers anymore, because I know they're always going to come like, I know they're always going to arrive and and that's, that's the trust. And she said she was like that. You know, on this journey, I was so focused on finding my sole purpose, sole purpose, and living my sole purpose, instead of just like living by and with the flow of my soul. And they're different things, and they can feel the same, but it's like that, that forcing of I've got to find my purpose. I need to find my purpose. I need to live my purpose is very different than I'm coming into this felt sense relationship with the natural movement of my soul. And when I take its hand and I start to move, you don't care so much about what the outcome is, because you know it's going to arrive for you. And don't get me wrong, she's not somebody who's like, swimming in money and in all the things that she's ever wanted in her life, but she's so at peace, because she's like, I know it's all arriving. You don't have to know all the answers. And that's the beauty of can you look at this as like a magical experiment, a magical playground of, okay, I've decided to accept your playdate invitation spirit to meet by the slides. You can go on the swings, and I can go on the slides, and we can, like, have so much fun on this playground and have a great time running around and chasing each other around. And ultimately, I know that this is going to end in Wow, I feel like a more like a more free, happy, open person at the end of this, I know that's what's gonna happen, and I know I'm gonna thoroughly enjoy this playdate no matter what.
Jenna 17:13
This is the best analogy ever.
Laura 17:17
You never know what's gonna come through. See alchemy, correct? You roll with it. You roll with it. So is there anything else within alchemy that you feel is notable or just poignant?
Jenna 17:30
I think it's more than just a decision, because I think in the past, for me, it's been like, just decide like, decide differently. And again, it's going back to that feeling of like using alchemy as a tool when things are more heavy, as opposed to just being in constant relationship with it, or continued relationship with with Alchemy in general. But yeah, in the past, it'd be like, okay, just decide, and it'll shift. It'll alchemize if you decide. And it's more than a decision, like I said earlier, it's an allowance, and that just keeps coming up for me, like it's the allowance of the energy. Like, yes, you can always decide and shift always. And that's, I mean, that's part of our creation that we have in our lives. It's like you can always just decide. But I think it's also the allowance of the movement with the decision. It's not because you can decide and still feel the energy.
Laura 18:32
Yeah, I so appreciate you saying this, because it's actually bringing me right back to this session again, when my client was talking about this creative project that she's working with, and it's all about that allowance, right? It's coming into relationship with this creative project and realizing that regardless of whether this project is shared with the world, whether this project, you know, comes into anything outside of being in her space with her, she is allowing an alchemical process to unfold and an energy to move within her and through her in relationship with the divine, in relationship with the 3d because she's putting this into a 3d creation that, regardless of Its outcome, is contributing to collective consciousness, and that is so important, and that's why I think this point you're saying about allowance is key. It's like when we get so attached to what this is going to look like, we are negating the impact of our inherent alchemy just by being and realizing how when we allow that process to like move through us and be within us and change us and open us and shift us and make us feel new textures and aspects of self that gets felt and delivered into collective consciousness, which means that it is inviting other people into the same that it. Is it is showing other people an awareness of the texture that they have within themselves and their creative ability and yeah, just like aspects and pockets of themselves that they might not have seen or felt before.
Jenna 20:14
that's beautiful. I really liked that.
Laura 20:16
That feels full circle to me.
Jenna 20:18
Yes, it does.
Laura 20:19
